Last week, Mr. Man and I had a chance to go to The Claremont Club & Spa for a few hours of pampering and it was spectacular. We got massages, spent hours in the spa and then had a sumptuous lunch.
The Fairmont Hotel chain took The Claremont over recently and have done extensive remodeling inside. The views from The Claremont have always been breathtaking but the interiors were uninspired. Now, you can enjoy the view inside as much as the view from the outside. I was too busy taking pictures of the floor in the restaurant and forgot to get a picture of the view, plus I kind of thought their website would have a picture of the view since it is what they’re most famous. I was wrong. Sorry. You’ll just have to trust me or go yourself. I vote for the latter.
If you follow me on Instagram (@avzambrana), than you caught a sneak peek of what tickled my fancy. (“Tickled my fancy”? Where the hell did this expression come from? What’s one’s “fancy” and why would it be good to have it tickled? Such a weird expression.)
Back to The Claremont: the lobby, plus the long hallways leading to and away from it, are exquisitely decorated. But it was the art and a few key pieces of furniture that slayed me.
Now let’s head into the restaurant. As I mentioned, I was obsessed with the floors and so I couldn’t stop looking down and taking pictures of my feet standing on them. This means you won’t see much of the restaurant but I think the floors alone are worth the trip…oh yeah, and the view of the Bay Bridge and San Francisco.
Finally, I’m sorry that I subjected you to the Uggs but I won’t apologize for loving them. If loving them is wrong…
