Hi Guys! If you’ve been following me on Instagram you know we’re in South Lake Tahoe this week. Every year for the last 10+ years we’ve rented a house for a week; and every year when we’re up here we talk about buying a vacation home in Tahoe. The chances of this happening are so slim it borders on delusional. Nevertheless, it’s still fun looking at properties for sale. It was during one of these searches that I came upon this week’s Friday’s Featured
Flip Fantasy on Glades Place (“FFF” still works, ha!).
The listing history on this property is peculiar as it takes you to about 8 different homes, none of which have sold. Therefore, I truly have no idea if this is a flip or not. Maybe the sellers bought multiple properties to make this huge compound, or maybe MLS in these parts is run by a really inept administrator.
Whatever the history of this home, it’s stunning now. This house is on the market for $7,000,000 and the only thing I know about the potential buyers is that they are filthy rich! The neighborhood is a ski resort, though I don’t think you can ski in/out from the home, which seems like a deal breaker at this price.
Entry (or waiting room)…
Initially I thought the branches on the back wall was wallpaper and loved it. But upon closer inspection, I think they’re real branches. If they are, I’m don’t like it as much, and I can’t really explain why. Maybe it has something to do with the wood stump table in the middle of the seating area. #alotofdeadwood
Great Room: Living, Dining and Kitchen
I like many of the light fixtures in this house, starting with the cluster in the living room and the hanging chandelier over the dining table.
Master Bedroom & Bathroom
This house has 5 bedrooms, 6.5 bathrooms in over 6000 sq. ft. I suspect there are multiple master bedrooms/en suite situations. I doubt this is The Master, but it’s the only bedroom-en suite they showed in the listing.
This bedroom looks more like The Master but they didn’t show the bathroom so I’m not sure. There’s more wood paneling on the ceiling and I think I like it here. Hate the light fixture though
Bedroom #3: The Bunk Room
Every Tahoe home we’ve ever rented has had a bunk room. There must be an ordinance or something. This house has one as well. I guess even the rich can’t escape some things. I like a lot about this room. How great are those ladders and railings against the light wood?! I also love the light fixture, ledge and outlet they put in each bunk area. So smart. The rug, however, feels off. It’s too light and warm for the wood paneling.
I LOVE the black stained wood ceiling!!! I mean, this is how you do modern-cabin chic.
View to Kill For…
I hope you enjoyed today’s FFF.
